Makers of Popular LED zPAR line granted judgment over GE Lighting
Boca Raton, Florida (August 12, 2015) MSi Lighting Inc., arguably the most innovative performance grade commercial LED PAR lamp available today, announced that on August 5, 2015, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio granted MSi’s motion for summary judgment, declaring invalid certain patents of GE Lighting Solutions LLC and dismissing GE Lighting Solutions patent infringement claims against MSi.
The lawsuit alleges infringement by MSi and five other LED manufacturers of two GE Lighting patents, U.S. patent No. 6,787,999, entitled LED based modular lamp, and U.S. patent No. 6,787,864, entitled High Power LED Power Pack for Spot Module Illumination.
“We are delighted with this decision, and look forward to getting back to the business of providing the very best quality and performance in an LED PAR lamp” states MSi President John Burke. “LED lighting is one of the hottest industries in America today. All across the country, 90 & 75 watt halogen spotlights are being replaced with 12-watt MSi ZPAR LED lights. The conversion is a simple matter of unscrewing the old lights and screwing in the new ones, but the results are immediate and dramatic. Within hours of installation, you notice a drop in the room temperature, a crispness of light and consistency of color – and an instant drop in the power bill. The new MSi ZPAR LED lamps are designed to last 20X longer than halogen & incandescent bulbs and give off no heat, saving a customer as much as 80% on their direct energy costs.”
MSi has always been focused on creating solutions to the high energy consumption of hot, costly halogen lights in a myriad of applications – particularly in Retail, Hospitality, Museums and Furniture. Today, MSi ZPAR’s are getting rave reviews across the nation. For more information on MSi Lighting, visit their web site at www.msissl.com
